Self Care and Staying Flexible

The mounting fear, panic and confusion surrounding the coronavirus can be exhausting and put our nervous system on high alert. In a distressed state we are more susceptible to illness. It is important to do the things that settle your nerves, help you rest, and keep your immune system, body, mind and heart strong! Things like breathing deeply, moving, meditating, and getting good nutrients.

Yes, our current situation is all kinds of uncertain and uncomfortable. Yes, it’s bringing up insecurities and doubts. Give yourself permission to feel all of what you feel, fully. Don’t beat yourself up for lashing-out, crying, yelling; feeling depressed, overwhelmed, underwhelmed, or confused.

“Of course I feel this way. It makes complete sense that I feel [insert barrage of feelings here]!”

Nothing is permanent. Remember that with our every thought, word and action, we can create a better situation around us. By choosing to get grounded, choosing an investigative pause instead of impulsive reaction, practicality and intellect over fear and retreat, we set the stage to thrive amidst the chaos.

What are the stories you’re telling yourself these days? Be aware of those stories. Toss the lies. Stay in the truth. We’re here to accept and support you through it all!

Live Stream and Recorded Classes!

Omaha Power Yoga is committed to supporting your well-being in every way we can. To support you in taking care of yourself even when you can’t make it into the studio, we are streaming and recording our classes!

How to Sign Up for Live Stream Classes

  1. Register in advance for all classes* (live-stream and in-studio) via our schedule page or the Mindbody app.
    • You will need to download the free Zoom app.
    • If you are new to streaming with us, we will contact you prior to class with the Zoom link and password.
    • Save the link and passcode you receive, as it will be the same for each stream you attend.
  2. Log into the Zoom stream a few minutes prior to class start time
    • If you log in after class start time, we cannot help you with technical issues.
    • You’ll have 2 audio options: Internet/Device Audio or Dial-in. If your internet is slow or “skippy,” the Dial-in option will be less strain on your internet connection.
    • We encourage chatting before & after classes!  Stay muted during class, as background noise will disrupt practice and the recording for folks getting the replay.

How to Sign Up for Replay Classes

Those unable to attend classes at our scheduled times can enjoy our replay option! Here’s how it works…

  1. Register in advance for a live stream class.
  2. We’ll email you a replay link after class (good for up to 1 week).

*Advanced registration is required for all our classes, preferably 2 hours in advance. Cancellations cannot be made within 2 hours of class start time. You can request a replay in lieu of cancelling. No-call-no-shows for in studio reservations will be charged for the missed session – review our cancellation policy.
